McQueen Adaptive Reuse

Located in the redeveloping McQueen neighbourhood in Edmonton, this property has been operated by Scouts Canada since 1963, hosting a variety of institutional and community users such as Scouts Canada Northern Lights Council and the Kiwanis Club of Edmonton (Downtown Club).

Our client, Edmonton-based Yardstick Technologies, hoped to breathe new life into the building by repurposing it for their new professional office space. Through thoughtful consultation with the surrounding community, including with nearby schools and the neighbouring seniors housing organization, our team successfully managed an application to rezone the site to CB1 (Low Intensity Business Zone). Edmonton City Council unanimously approved the proposal allowing our great clients to move into their new home.
